IMHO, best show of the tour so far...just went to 4 shows in a week, and this one blew them all away! What a crowd!
I had a great spot on the floor, virtually no crowd noise on this recording...a little bassy at times, but very clear. I wanted to try and EQ this because I think it has "potential" but I am sharing the file as is because I would love for someone who REALLY knows what they are doing to give this a crack at a Remaster....I don't want a bunch of different versions floating around, but if someone wants to give it a go and send me a sample for approval to share, by all means have at it. There is a small gap at the end of Crazy Tonight for a disc swap(extremely fast if I do say so myself)...I did not want to record in MONO so I had to do it, didn't miss anything really.
My only two requests are 1)please don't share this on any other tracker, I will upload to Dime and TTD, need to keep my ratios up & 2)Don't sell:)
I hope you all enjoy the secret encore as much as I do, my brother n law has got some pipes! Thanks to Bill and Larry for clapper control.

What a night for a concert! The air was clear and crisp, but filled with electricity. We wisely decided to get to the stadium early in the afternoon and do some tailgating to prepare for the show. As it turns out, this was the best decision we could have made because parking turned into a nightmare. As reported by the Raleigh News, people were abandoning their cars on the highways after sitting for hours (literally) trying to get to the show.
Muse wrapped up their set right at 8:00 PM. The roadies hit the stage and prepared it for the main event. Around 8:45, the lights went out and we were loaded onto the starship for a space oddity. The setlist did not differ much from shows in other cities, but Bono did localize the show by mentioning Raleigh or North Carolina several times. At the start of Magnificent, he asks: Where are we going? Chapel Hill? Durham? Cary? naming off some of the towns surrounding Raleigh.
Other notable moments... During Still Haven't Found, Bono yells out "Happy Birthday Agnes!" Then, during One, Bono reveals more about who Agnes is. During City of Blinding Light, Bono pulls a kid names Brian up to the runway of the stage and the two of them ran laps around the stage, singing and waving.
The stage U2 is using has a great the sound system and the monster 360 degree video screens above the stage made every seat in the house a good one. I use my mobile phone to take a couple of pictures during the set by Muse, and used them to make cover artwork. They show you the general vantage point I had for the show. I was located near the top of Section 19, on the left side of the stadium (stage right).
The recording turned out very nice. My only edits to the recording were suppressions of some of the clapping from the guy to my right. For some reason, his claps nearly clipped the recording on a few occasions, So I toned them down to about the same level as the rest of the audience clapping. I did this selectively for each clap and primarily just on the right channel. The only other annoyance were a couple of 'yahoos' several rows behind and to the left of me who thought it would be fun to have a whistling competition from time to time.

First off, let me just say I am very hesitant to upload this because I by no means am knowledgeable on remastering music files. With that being said, I have been messing around with recording since I originally posted it on 2009-10-09...after a lot of trial and error, I feel like this is worthy of sharing. I know the sound on the original posting was extremely low in the mix and the bass was just a tad boomy. Because of the low sound this required a ton of boosting, but every time you do a db increase past a certain level there was a significant loss in quality of sound...what I found was that by essentially doing a matrix of itself the volume increased without affecting the db output...I ran this though a 225hz high pass filter to get more punch on the bass, increased the high end ever so gently, then did a sort of matrix and layered the file to increase the volume without increasing the output more than 6db. I am sure there is a better mix out there (I would love to hear it) and a better way to do one, but this works for my ears...this recording is best at extremely high volume, it rocks! (note: I am not sure why, but after Boots the sound is much better overall)
Please feel free to use this recording in any way you please. Any tips for improvement?

This is my remastered version I did a few months ago. For me sounds
very clear with great instruments and Bono's Voice.
I know, it's not perfect. If you find clipping or other mistakes,
you have to remove it by yourself. I don't know how to remove that.

After learning that my sound card used for the original transfer of this recording was faulty, I wanted to see if a new transfer to a different computer would have any positive effect on this recording...I am VERY happy to say that it did indeed.
The original transfer was very low volume, and to my ears did not capture the full sound as it is on the master MD's. With the direct line in to Samplitude for the capture to hard drive, the volume level was instantly better. All I have done to this recording is a simple 100hz high pass filter to lessen the boom and normalize to 0db.
I was very hesitant to upload this because there are already a few different mixes out there...after figuring out I had a problem with original transfer, I figured folks would like a better offering...
If you downloaded the original posting, I suggest you delete it and grab this one...much better in my opinion.
