Comments:
We arrived for this concert later in the afternoon than we usually do, but because it was pouring rain we still ended up near the front of the line. After the gates opened
at 5 in the afternoon, we ran to get inside the circle and ended up right in front of Bono again (3 meters away).
It was a great concert in spite of the rain, and Bono sings several "rain" snippets during the concert. The crowd was great, and we were lucky to hear "A Boy Falls from the Sky" for the first time ever!
This feed was from Bono's IEM.
Enjoy it!!
Dedicated to Nicky, a faithful friend

Boy Falls From The Sky (Edge IEM live from the concert) - 2010-10-03 - Coimbra, Portugal
Comments:
This soundcheck was done when we were in the GA line when it was raining, and we were
waiting to get inside of the stadium. It's a interesting soundcheck that contains Edge talking
with Joe O'Herlihy testing the sound and some guitar riffs about some songs that were going to be
played at the concert. Sadly "Bad" was not played in the concert but it was on the setlist since we
got that at in the end of the concert from Phil (Bono's guitar technician).
Also, this soundcheck has part of an unreleased song "Boy Falls From The Sky", that was only played
once in the entire tour which makes this more enjoyable. The band even tried a different
arrangement sung by Edge and Bono.

Coimbra
2010-10-03 360 Tour
Remaster by sparko aka DanysNet // U2Media.de
Originally thought of a matrix, it turned out that both sources were too bad for mixing them. Nuno's Bono Feed unfortunately was recorded too loud and bedoc's audience recording had many distortions in the beginning - sounding like a bad cable (?!) and sounds very distant.
Especially Space Oddity and Stingray guitar were not listenable due to the distortions.
The rest of the audience isn't the best base, but you could do something with it. I matrixed the source onto 4 tracks, on two of them I switched the channels which reduced the side-flaws and a lot of the wind distortions.
I then enhanced the vocals on all channels and EQ'd several levels to get a more clearer and a more "all over" sound, as well as get the distance out of the recording.
I replaced space oddity on all 4 tracks with the IEM Feed as this track is still good in sound and not too loud. So you hear some counting at the beginning of stingray. Stingray still sounds worst, as there's heavy wind and some other distortions (hiding/pushing mics or so) and it has a muddy sound with many flaws. Still, it's now not dropping to mono and I tried to "lighten" it up as well. It's still the worst track, tho. Also the beginning of BD is still distorted.
From the middle of BD on, the sound quality is very stable.
Still you can hear wind disturbances on the audio, but they are now more acceptable as you can hear more of Bono's voice thru it. Mostly distracting on quiet parts (Band intros and such). Reducing them more would have resulted in a very flat sound.
I did this because the multicam deserved a much better audio then the two single sources. This is still far from the best and being perfect, but until we ever get a better source - this is at least a somewhat better option so far.
